For Round 2 of the 2021 SMC Series, NMCC headed to the picturesque hillside circuit at Badby. The sun stayed out for most of the day, a good job considering the how the cold Northamptonshire wind never let up for a second.

In the Expert class Charlie Putnam took charge early on, riding to 3 clean wins in formidable style. Toby Avis took second overall after claiming runner-up position in the final two races. Oliver Beamish took third overall with three consistent third place finishes. With such a big entry the Junior class once again had to be split into 3 groups following qualification. In the A group Henry Siddiqui took first overall after finishing second first time out, before winning the final race. First race winner Elliott Pugh ended up second overall ahead of Tony Leishman who recently returned to competition.  In the B category Luke Jenkinson proved victorious after winning the final race. Alan Vissian headed a group of enduro riders into second overall with Max Barnett in third. Lee Hayward took a maximum two wins in the Junior C class, his lap times suggesting he could have been competitive in a higher group.

For this meeting NMCC were joined by the South Eastern EVO Series, impressing everyone with their full line up of gleaming 2 strokes. Brett Fisher dominated the class with three straight wins, shadowed each time by Steve Bixby. Jason Morland looked immaculate on his way to third overall. In the first of the age groups Justin Robinson took the overall win in the Premier O40 class, with two wins and a second. Billy Hazell finished second overall after following Justin home in the first two, but overturning the result in the final leg. Paul Willis got faster as the day went on to take third overall.  Tony Leishman took a full hat-trick of victories in the Elite O50 class. Greg Cox finished in second ahead of Chris Koch each time out. In the Super O60 class, Simon Tucker took the overall winning two of the three legs. Richard Jocachy took a well deserved second place overall, with Richard Ford claiming the last step of the podium each time out.

Charlie Putnam took his second hat-trick of victories for the day in the U40 class. Connor Dickens took second overall after battling and trading places with Kyle Creevy. First overall in the 2 stroke sub-group went to two-stroke enthusiast Ian Tindle ahead of Sam Chapman. Luke Twelvetree stormed to victory in the famous NMCC Workers race which incorporates a handicap start. Given another lap Ashley Batten could probably have reeled him in, but ran out of time on this occasion.
